Easy Inlay, a division of Imagine Woodworking

Based in the Finger Lakes region of New York, Easy Inlay provides rare, unique, high-quality inlay supplies to professional and hobbyist woodworkers, turners, luthiers, jewelers, and other artists and crafters. We are a division of Imagine Woodworking, a company that offers products made by a woodworker, for woodworkers. Scott Grove is our founder: Imagine Grove is his educational source for woodworking and creativity; his art furniture and sculpture brand is Green Grove Design. Easy Inlay staff include Scott, his wife, Nancy Napurski, and his son, Zach Grove.

Scott is a third-generation artist who brings an innovative and creative approach to design and woodworking. He produces commission work, sculpture, speculative furniture, and limited edition pieces for interior designers, architects and private collectors. He consults on a variety of topics including furniture design, composite fabrication, manufacturing production efficiencies, business practices, and sales and marketing.

Scott lectures and teaches internationally, most notably at the Chippendale International School of Furniture and Marc Adams School of Woodworking. He has been featured in, and has written for, a variety of publications such as Fine Woodworking Magazine, Celebrated Living (American Airlines First Class Magazine), Woodshop News, Architectural Record, Interior Design, Design New York, The Robb Report, Huffington Post, and the Los Angeles Times, as well as HGTV’s The Furniture Show and Woodworking in Action Series. His work is part of the permanent collection in museums and many private collections.

 

He has won four Veneer Tech Craftsman Challenge Awards, an unprecedented achievement. He has pioneered a number alternative veneering techniques including asymmetrical matching and veneering extreme compound curves. He has also won the NICHE Award for his trompe l’oeil carving, a DuPont Prize for innovative use of materials, AIA / Architectural Record Napkin Sketch Award and an NEA grant for environmental interactive sculpture; to name a few.

 

He has also authored a comprehensive veneering book published by Schiffer Publishing: Advanced Veneering and Alternative Techniques, and has a second book forthcoming entitled Hardwood Edging and Inlay for Curved Tables. He working on his third which will be on Creative Thinking and Design.

 

A graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology with a degree in environmental design and minor in sculpture, Scott also studied at RIT’s School for American Crafts. You can visit his website ScottGrove.com to see his work.
